Top 5 Best Budget Headphones in 2024

top 5 best budget headphone

Headphones a common in all gamers, and headphone models change frequently. Now, a few companies have built exclusive headphone models for us, especially for grammar. Today I talk about my other favorite gadget Headphone. I try to explore all the headphone models that I share with you.

01. Razer Barracuda X

The Razer Barracuda X comes in at $79.99, a price it frequently goes on sale for, making it an exceptional value in the budget wireless headset market. Its build quality stands out with a durable, attractive design featuring metal adjustable bands, plush faux leather on the headband, and breathable fabric ear muffs.

Despite extensive use over a year, it has shown no signs of wear, attesting to its durability. The headset includes a well-designed detachable mic that stays in place, eliminating the floppiness often seen in other models.

The sound quality of the Barracuda X is impressive, with 40 mm drivers that deliver a fuller sound compared to similar models. The bass is punchy and deep without being overwhelming, and the mids and trebles are clean. This makes the headset equally suitable for gaming and music, providing a balanced audio experience. The directional sound is precise, allowing for easy identification of in-game audio cues like footsteps and bullet paths.

Controls are conveniently located on the left side, including a mic mute button, a volume wheel, an on/off button that doubles as a mode selector, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and a USB-C port for charging. The Razer Audio app enhances usability by allowing customization of EQ settings and battery monitoring, though it does not support Razer Synapse, which some users might prefer.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth and a 2.4 GHz USB dongle, enabling use with various devices. The headset can switch automatically between Bluetooth and the dongle, a feature that adds to its versatility.

Battery life is a standout feature, offering up to 60 hours of use. Comfort is also a highlight, with a lightweight design, fabric ear muffs that keep ears cool, and a plush top band, making it suitable for long gaming sessions even for users with glasses. The mic, while average, completes a package that offers exceptional value and performance.

02. Razer Kyra Hyperspeed

Razer Kyra Hyperspeed Priced at $89.99. The Razer Kyra Hyperspeed offers a robust build with a fully plastic construction that, while less premium than metal alternatives, remains durable. The design is distinctly gamer-oriented, with Razer logos on the ear cups and top band. The rotating ear cups add comfort and can lay flat around the neck, an added convenience for gamers.

Sound quality is a key strength, with superior drivers that excel in the upper frequencies, although the trebles are slightly overdone. The low-end bass response is good, though not as strong as the Barracuda X. Mids are clear, and directional sound is precise, enhancing in-game audio cues like footsteps and explosions. Overall, the sound profile is refined, providing a full and immersive experience.

Control placement is practical, with a mic mute switch, volume wheel, power button, and USB-C port for charging on the left ear cup. The right ear cup houses a mode selection button and a game/chat balance wheel.

Connectivity is flexible with a 2.4 GHz USB dongle that supports USB and Xbox modes, and Bluetooth, making it a versatile choice for gaming and travel. Battery life is about 19 hours, which is decent at this price point.

Comfort is excellent, despite being the second-heaviest headset on the list. The balanced weight distribution, breathable fabric ear muffs, and padded fabric top band ensure a comfortable fit during long gaming sessions. The Kyra Hyperspeed offers a well-rounded package with strong audio performance and durable build quality.

03. Logitech G535

At $89.99, the Logitech G535 is a step up from the G435, featuring a more premium build and additional features. The plastic construction feels denser and more robust, with added glossy accents and a colorful fabric top band that enhances its aesthetic appeal. The ear cups slide smoothly for adjustability, and a dedicated mic boom arm mutes when raised, adding convenience.

Sound quality is a slight improvement over the G435, with crisper trebles and well-balanced tuning out of the box. The bass remains full and impactful, and the mids are clear. Directional sound is slightly better, providing precise audio cues in games. The headset is compatible with Logitech G Hub, allowing for extensive customization of EQ and other settings.

Control placement is straightforward, with a power button, volume wheel, and USB-C port for charging on the left side. Connectivity is limited to a 2.4 GHz USB dongle, lacking Bluetooth, which might be a drawback for some users. However, battery life is significantly better at 39 hours.

Comfort is a major highlight, with the G535 being very light at 236 grams. The larger, plush ear muffs and the comfortable fabric top band enhance its suitability for long gaming sessions, maintaining the light and airy feel of the G435. Overall, the G535 offers a compelling upgrade with better sound, build quality, and comfort.

04. Logitech G435 Lightspeed

The Logitech G435 Lightspeed, priced at around $47.99, is an excellent budget option. Despite its all-plastic build, it is remarkably durable and extremely lightweight at only 165 grams, making it ideal for long gaming sessions. The fit and finish are solid, and the lightweight design contributes to its comfort, though it may feel cheap to some due to the lack of heft.

Sound quality is surprisingly good for its price, with balanced mids and crisp trebles, although the bass is less pronounced than in higher-end models. In-game directional sound is clear, making it easy to locate audio cues. The headset offers a no-frills, budget-friendly option that delivers impressive sound quality for the price.

Controls include a power button, volume up and down buttons, and a mic mute button, along with a USB-C port for charging. Connectivity options include a 2.4 GHz USB dongle and Bluetooth, making it versatile for use with various devices. The range on the dongle is impressive, maintaining a strong connection over long distances and through walls. Battery life is about 24 hours, which is decent for its price.

Comfort is another strong point, with the lightweight design and comfortable ear muffs providing an excellent fit for extended use. However, the mic is a significant drawback, lacking a dedicated boom arm and sounding comparable to a laptop mic. Despite this, the G435 Lightspeed remains a top choice for budget-conscious gamers seeking comfort and good sound quality.

05 The HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 Wireless

The Cloud Stinger 2 holds the number five spot because, despite the price change, it’s still worth it but not quite as much as some others on the list. The build quality here is classic HyperX. It’s not unique, but it is functional, comfortable, and sounds good in-game.

It’s fully made of plastic with plush faux leather padding on the top, faux leather ear muffs, and HyperX logos on the ear cups with that textured design that continues to the top band as well. The adjustable bands are plastic but feel durable and are marked for tactile adjustments. Overall, it’s nothing fancy, but it works very well and is durable.

Now let’s get to the meat and potatoes: the sound quality. The Stinger 2s are tuned great for gaming specifically. They have a fantastic bass response and full mids. The trebles here are a tad muddy and a little bit over-boosted, but for the most part, they’re well-balanced.

Explosions sound powerful and realistic, footsteps are easy to pinpoint, and overall you get a great full sound from these. They’re not my favorite for listening to music, but the gaming experience is really, really good here.

As for controls, you have the power button and a USB Type-C port for charging on the right side. On the left, you have a volume wheel. For connectivity, this is wireless with a 2.4 GHz USB dongle. As for battery life, this gets around 20 hours, so while it’s longer than some, especially at this price point, you’ll want to plug them in every few days.
